WELCOME TO HBCUs FIRST

HBCUs First is a non-profit organization striving to make a difference within the HBCU community. When talking to college students about their college choice, there was a recurring statements of " I wish I could have chosen to go to an HBCU," "I wanted to attend an HBCU for college," and "I always wanted to go to an HBCU." When asked why they didn't go, the answers ranged from finances to lack of knowledge about HBCUs.

So we wanted to create an organization to bring more awareness about HBCUs, help with the college process, connect HBCU alumni, and most importantly, create scholarships and opportunities for students who want to attend and currently attend HBCUs. We believe HBCUs should be students' first choice of secondary education.

THE HISTORY OF HBCUs

Our goal is to give a  million dollars in scholarship money to students attending HBCUs. This is your chance to a make difference in the lives of  HBCU students.

Be apart of the HBCUs First community through providing scholarships, volunteering, or even interning.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were established in the United States in the 19th century, providing undergraduate and graduate level educational opportunities to African Americans. Due to African American students being unwelcome at established public and private institutions of higher education.
